Story and Background

The game continues the epic saga shown in Mortal Kombat X. Base game contains 12 chapters, with Aftermath expansion adding another 5, for a total of 17 chapters.

Gameplay-wise, it’s a straightforward, single-player mode shown in the form of Klassic Tower. You’re fighting a series of opponents before facing a boss.

Cassie Cage defeated the fallen Elder God Shinnok. The God of Thunder – Raiden, who has been corrupted by the power of Jinsei Chamber, tortures him. 

Soon after, he announces his goal to destroy Earthrealm’s enemies. To prove his words, he delivers a fatal blow decapitating Shinnok as a warning and teleports away.

The Keeper of Time – Kronika – decides to manipulate timelines. She restored the world to an era before Raiden’s actions. This created an anomaly, as all fighters’ younger alter-egos coexist with their present selves. The situation leads to dangerous repercussions for characters born in recent timelines. They will perish if older timelines result in different outcomes.

Gameplay and Mechanics

Mortal Kombat 11 doesn’t shy away from its predecessor’s gaming mechanics. Thanks to its new graphics engine, it shows every skull-shattering and eye-popping moment. Sometimes it’s even painful and disturbing to watch.

Multiplayer
